THE PASSING OF THE STRONGEST WOMAN I KNOW
Many of you know that my mother has been fighting Sarcoidosis for the past 6 years. It has been a very difficult journey for her and my family over these years but she has always stayed positive. This strength and unwavering positive attitude has inspired everyone who came into contact with her. No matter what I was going through in my life, I always thought of mom and was inspired to stay...

Leadership Lessons from the 30 Precepts of The...
I have the habit of reading a Proverb a day (works out nice since there are 31 Proverbs and at most 31 days in a month!). I have found throughout the years that no matter how many times I may read a Proverb, I always discover something new. As I was reading this month, the thirty Precepts of the Sages stood out to me (Proverbs: 22:17 to 24:22). These precepts are sound pieces of advice no matter...

This provided me with a unique opportunity to do something I typically wouldn’t be able to do at work.. Dance!! I think this video shows and re-enforces what I have said in previous blog posts, one of the key principles of being effective...

Life In A Day - A Trip to the Jersey Shore
On Saturday July 24th, the boys and I participated in Life In A Day. This is what the producers are calling a “historic global experience to create a user-generated feature film”. During this day I captured over 70 minutes of our day which I edited into four YouTube sized videos totaling 35 minutes. While filming you are encouraged to answer the following questions: What do you...

The Elephant in the Room
“When there is an elephant in the room, introduce it.” Quote from Professor Randy Pausch’s dad Randy used during his last lecture at Carnegie Mellon University in 2007. The term elephant in the room refers to something that everyone is aware of but no one wants to talk about. This is typically because the elephant is something that makes people uncomfortable. This video blog...

Brick Walls and Elevator Doors
“Brick walls are there for a reason: They let us prove how badly we want things.” - Professor Randy Pausch from his last lecture at Carnegie Mellon University in 2007. This is one of my favorite quotes and I was reminded of it today when I heard a story on the radio. The story was as follows: A man goes into the city to speech at a convention hall in a high rise building. The man...

That Defining Moment - Rich Dad Poor Dad
Everyone has had at least one “defining moment” in their life at some point or another. Some “defining moments” in my life have been: meeting my wife, having my first child, the sudden realization that if I stayed in a construction job I had my body wouldn’t make it to 40 and divorce. All of those changed my life forever in some way. Early this year, I have had...

My encounter with a Baby T-Rex
The other day while I was attending a ticket run for Philadelphia’s Country Station’s 26th Anniversary show, I had an encounter.  If you have ever attended a ticket run with XTU you know that it can get a little wild, this run was no different. The first thing that stood out to me was a large 18-wheeler truck with pictures of dinosaurs on the side and prominent writing of...
